Card: 62 – The Glanconer – from The Faeries’ Oracle by Brian Froud and Jessica MacBeth.
“It is no good to make decisions when blinded by lust. Whether it is lust for a person, a thing, or an idea, we need to pause take our time before making actual commitments. We need to read the fine print, check out the foundations, get a mechanic to test the so-beautiful secondhand car.”
Message from Erin: I looked at the faerie in this card and said to him “You’re a bit of bastard, aren’t you?” He laughed delightedly, and then he said “All that glitters is not gold”, and then he stood there smirking like the bastard that he is. Of course, for a moment I felt bad for calling him a bastard, cuz that’s just how I am, but then I felt okay about it because I’m still discovering how important it is for me to trust my instincts and tell it like I see it.
I thought of all the moments in my life where I met someone and had that bad feeling my gut that told me not to trust someone, but I ignored that intuition because I didn’t believe in myself and I was so wanting to believe in that person because they were so charming and beautiful. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve done this in my life. Just, too many, haha.
And that’s just how it, isn’t it? Sometimes we just want to believe in someone or something so badly that we aren’t wanting to see the truth behind it. We ignore our instincts and we are blind to what’s really happening. Let’s forgive ourselves for those moments in our lives and put them behind us, and let us vow to believe in ourselves and trust our intuition.
I love you,
Erin (and the Faeries who are always here in spirit.
