Card: III Empress – from the Voyager Tarot by James Wanless, Ph.D.
“The Empress, symbolizing the law of preservation, is the guardian of life. Standing before the earth, she represents your charge to protect it and that lives…Life is a miracle. The Empress honours and respects all of life for its inherent richness and beauty.”
Message from Erin: I was so not surprised to pull this card for us this week. The Empress – the divine feminine – has been a reoccurring theme for me past few weeks. This feminine energy has been coming up a lot in conversations I’m having with some of my close women friends.
Why is the Empress showing up? Well, the first thing I want to say is that if you plan to work with the faeries at all, you will become very familiar with this strong feminine energy. The Faeries have a deep love for all of life. While they do have an affinity for humans, they will will fiercely try to protect all life on this planet. So this protective female energy is felt by me all the time.
I get the sense that the Divine Feminine is coming up for a lot of people right now, for both men and women. This energy can be quite challenging for some. It’s demanding that all of us to be more respectful of life – to all living beings. It’s asking us to have some deep and honest conversations with ourselves and each other – How are we protecting and honouring life? Are we? What happens if we don’t?
We are feeling and seeing the direct results of us and our ancestors not protecting and honouring life. We see it with climate change. We see it with people reacting to injustice when governments don’t respect and honour life. We feel it in the tensions we experience in our relationships with one another. The Divine Feminine is calling us every day into action. I pray that we all find the power within ourselves to answer the call.
Card: Three of Cups – from the Shadowscapes tarot by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law and Barbara Moore.
“There is a song that dwells at the ocean’s floor. Once in a great while, it bursts forth in an unstoppable swell to rise towards the surface. The Three of Cups is a call to celebration, dancing, and singing. Friendship is its key component, and companionship, relying on others, and developing community and team spirit.”
Message from the Faeries: Last week’s card was about healing the heart and relationships. This week we are still wanting to talk to you about the heart and relationships. Specifically we want to talk to you have your friends and community.
One of the greatest blessings you will have in this life are your friends. Friendships are the magical connections that you make with other people that you share common interests or experiences with. While friends are like family, the relationship can be stronger and healthier because there isn’t the same expectations or history that is shared with your blood family members. You can’t pick your parents, but you can pick your friends.
This week is a good opportunity to reflect on all the special connections you’ve made in your life. It doesn’t matter if you are still friends or not. Cherish the memories and honour, in your heart, the blessings of those special connections. All of you have been blessed with so much fun and love. Keep your heart open and full of excitement for all the connections and special moments you will share in the future.
Take a moment and imagine yourself celebrating with all your friends – past, present and future. How wonderful and lucky you have been to meet such amazing people! You are truly blessed. Enjoy and be thankful.
Card: Seven of Sky – from the Mystical Cats Tarot by Lunaea Weatherstone.
“Because of too many distractions, you are in danger of losing something valuable to you. Consider where you choose to put your time and attention if you want to accomplish your objectives. There also may be something going on behind the scenes that you have been too preoccupied to notice. Pay attention.”
Message from the Faeries: We hope that you’ve had fun the last few weeks, going on adventures, meeting new people and trying out new things. It’s good to let yourself let loose and do something different from time to time.
This week it is time to change gears. It’s time to sit down and get to work. It’s time to set a new tone to your daily routine. It’s very easy to get distracted by even the most boring and mundane aspects of day to day living. That’s why we asked you to do some fun new things the last couple of weeks. We want you do something else new this week. We want you to start a new routine.
Take a moment at the beginning of the week to reflect on what matters the most to you right now. What are you being distracted from? How are you allowing yourself to be distracted? After you figure out what you really need to be focusing on, try to come up with a plan to get it done. If you have to, come up with a schedule, or think up a new pattern of behaviour and actions, to ensure that you are able to be successful at your goals.
It’s time to come up with new ideas and new ways of thinking. The old patterns and behaviours are no longer serving you. We know that new things can be frightening or intimidating, but if you’ve done something new, as we instructed, then you will have learned that new can be fun and exciting. New is almost always well worth the try.
Card: Cordelia – from the Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue.
“Being cooped up is not the natural way for inhabitants of this exciting planet to live. Believe me, there’s plenty to see and experience when you exit your four walls and roof. A daily venture outside will not only revive your spirit and soul, it will give you hope and faith in this planet’s very existence and future…Don’t let another day go by without stepping outdoors into this most entertaining and exciting of environments.”
Message from the Faeries: We love our Faerie goddess, Cordelia, so very much! She brings so much joy and and beauty to our lives. Without her, summer just wouldn’t happen! We hope you are out there enjoying all of her hard work.
We’ve been observing this growing trend amongst a lot of you of staying inside. We understand that you love the comforts of your home, and all the distractions that can be found there. We also sympathize with your desire to spend time alone, in the safety of your space, away from the complexities of interacting with others.
While we think that spending time at home and alone can be great for your mental health, and sometimes it is essential, we also think it’s imperative for the survival of humanity for you all to get out there more and engage with the world and each other. We’ve watched humanity moving towards a more antisocial species in the last 100 years, and it’s wreaking havoc on not only social structures, but also on the environment.
We don’t want you to feel pressured or guilted into going outside. We wish deeply in our hearts that you will go out more into the world (work doesn’t count) because you have a desire to connect with other human beings, bonding with others and also the world you live in. We want you to really live!
Card: Queen of the Thrones of Air – from The Hermetic Tarot by Godfrey Dowson.
“A graceful woman with curly hair stands amid a multitude of rolling clouds. The crest above her head is the winged kerubic head of Air. Across her shoulders she holds a large sword, and in her right hand she grasps the newly-severed head of a man by the lock of his hair.”
Message from Erin: I really relate to this card. For the past few years I have often imagined that I have sword resting behind my shoulder blades. It’s a Sword of Justice. Like the Queen in this card, I would deliver swift justice to those who have broken sacred laws. I have imagined myself holding my sword to those who have committed atrocities.
The thing about carrying this sword around is that there is a great burden. The sword is quite heavy and it can restrict your movement. Also, in order to use the sword, you have to become very cunning, relying solely on your wits and having to ignore the pleas from the heart. Because of this, I choose not to carry a sword, but I have respect and admiration for those who choose to wield it.
This week, we are being asked to choose our mind over our hearts. If you are feeling driven by your emotional body, pay attention to your feelings but try not to let them be the deciding factor for any big decisions or actions you need to take. Try to use logic and your intellect instead. It’s important that you are very precise with your actions and words this week. If that seems to difficult, it might be best to try to hold off right now on making any major changes.
Card: Page of Pentacles – from the Shadowscapes tarot by Stephanie Pui-Min Law and Barbara Moore.
“The Page of Pentacles comes bearing her message for opportunities of growth and prosperity. She is lighthearted and joyous, and her spirit is entwined with everything around her. It is a small spark she holds, but she is just the harbinger for potential. Make of that spark what you will—a mere smoldering coal or the blaze of a rising star—but that choice and vision is something that each individual must find on their own, using skills and resources at hand.”
Message from the Faeries: We bring you this card this week to remind you that you are, just like the faerie in this card, pure potential. You already contain everything you need to accomplish your goals and to be successful in whatever project you are involved in.
We want to encourage you to go ahead and start any new creative endeavours this week, or to put more time and energy into existing ones. The time is ripe right now to move forward. The energy of pure potential that is flowing right now is there for you to take and use however you see fit.
The owl in this card is reminder that you also have all of the knowledge that is required for you to work towards your dreams and desires, and you can easily bring into reality that which you are trying to create. Turning dreams into physical reality is within your reach.
Card: King of Summer – from the Fairy Tarot Cards by Doreen Virtue and Radleigh Valentine.
“The King leads a very rich inner life, often coming from a pursuit of spirituality. A humanitarian, he is honourable and quite chivalrous. He shows high integrity in relationships. However, he may come off as being a little intense sometimes. He’s been through a great deal, and his desire to protect you may result in paternal-sounding advice. The King is also a fierce protector of friends and family, so it benefit you to speak kindly of others in his presence.”
Message from the Faeries: Last week we showed you an example of the Divine Feminine. This week we are presenting you with an example of the Divine Masculine.
This Faerie King is a fine example of the kind and nurturing man who is able to express his emotions in a clear and gentle way. He knows how to give and receive love. He knows how to be in a healthy relationship and knows how to bring out all the best qualities in his partner.
We encourage you to try and see yourself in the qualities of this male. It’s okay to explore your male aspect. Have you ever encountered a man like this? We promise they exist! In fact they exist in all the men in your life. However, if someone is in alignment, you will recognize these qualities in them. How can you help foster relationships that allow the Divine Male to present itself? How can you foster those aspects to show express themselves through you?
Card: Queen of Water – from the Angel Tarot Cards by Doreen Virtue and Radleigh Valentine.
Message from Erin: Sometimes when I’m doing the weekly readings, the Faeries pick a card that I know is meant as a wink or nudge to me to then a opportunity for me to share a story with you all, or to give you my personal insight.
The Queen of Water from this deck has always really spoken to me. I love the imagery of this beautiful angel with the orcas and the stars above. For about twenty years now I’ve had dreams about whales. They are very intense and emotional dreams that have stuck with me for all this time. We have so much to learn from these beautiful beings. These dreams have always shown me that there is an intuitive bond between myself and others. They remind me that all living beings are connected to one another and that we all need each other to survive. More accurately, humans need to stop being so harmful to life.
I recognize myself in this card, as this tender hearted, empathetic, patient and loving angel. I probably don’t come across that way at all , haha, and that’s probably a result of a life full of adventures and heartbreak (the human journey!). My deepest self, minus the ego, is like this being. And I imagine that we all have this aspect to ourselves. We all have that kind and nurturing spirit within. I think this card is here to remind us that it’s okay to be tender hearted, and that it’s okay to love, even when it sometimes hurts.
Card: 20 Lady of the Forest – from The Heart of Faerie Oracle by Brian and Wendy Froud.
“The Lady is the Forest is the eternal feminine, the other half of everything. There is a bias toward the feminine in Faerie because Faerie is an intuitive realm, a place of dreaming, creativity, and imagination that we associate with the feminine. “
Message from the Faeries: The Lady of the Forest is the mother of us all. She gives life to all Fae. Like you, we need to the mother and father to come into existence. In Faerie culture, we feel a deep connection to the divine feminine energy and we have a deep love and respect for it.
This week we ask you to check in with yourself. How are you loving and respecting feminine energy in your life? Are you expressing your love outwardly in any way on a daily basis? Are you respecting the feminine energy within?
From our perspective, all human beings carry both masculine and feminine energy within. Some people are fortunate to be in balance with both energies, while we notice that the masculine energy is the more favoured energy in most human cultures. This has nothing to do with how people who identify as women express themselves in physical form. What we are talking about is how you treat each other in a daily basis.
We notice that people who identify as men are more readily respected and treated better. We notice that many women experience this preferential treatment externally and internalize it in self-harmful ways.
Try to show some kindness and gentleness to the women in your life, and to that feminine energy within. What do you appreciate about the feminine aspect? What do you love about women? How are showing your love?
Card: The Hanged Man XII – from The Fountain Tarot by Jonathan Saiz.
“A pivotal card in the Major Arcana, The Hanged Man has willingly stripped down, allowing his view of the world to alter completely. In this spiritual doorway, he relinquishes his ego and mind, and experiences a timeless glimmer of clarity and enlightenment – his true nature. True calm shines on his face as he merges with Divine, peace that comes from surrender and trust. the realizations he acquires here will stay with him forever and cannot be unlearned.”
Message from the Faeries: The card for this week was selected for those of you who are feeling like things are a struggle right now. If things right now are difficult and challenging it might be hard to see beyond your troubles. It might seem impossible to take an another perspective, but this is what we are asking you to do.
Instead of seeing things as a struggle, we hope that you can step back and see that things aren’t impossible. All that is happening in this situation is an opportunity for you to learn and grow, and no matter what the outcome is, it was just a small part of your journey.
Surrender to this moment, like the Hanged Man, and just let go. Don’t try to control everything, because that is impossible. Instead, let things unfold as they naturally will and allow yourself to be present in the moment. Feel how you feel, experience things for how they are, and move with integrity. In the end, everything works out however it’s meant to. Just let go.
