Faerie Card Reading for the Week of October 8 – 14, 2018

Card: Five of Swords – from The Fountain Tarot by Jonathan Saiz.

“Tainted Victory – Victories get polluted when your personal integrity is compromised. Nobody actually wins in this scenario, and the backlash can be horrible. Make sure you are paying attention to the whole picture. Broaden your vision and honour your principles. It will pay off in the long run.”

Message from Erin: This past week was a bit of a stressful one for me. It was very busy at work, and in the midst of the chaos, I got into an argument with one of my coworkers. I really hate conflict, and it was challenging for me to keep my anger under wraps. Even though I felt I was in the right, and had to stand up for myself and other coworkers, I did not feel like I came up a winner in my battle. It feels awful, for me, to argue with someone.

However, despite the fact that I didn’t “win”, I gained some understanding of myself and other people. The truth can be harsh and uncomfortable. And my truth is really important to me. I don’t need to be right all the time, but I need things to be just and fair. If someone isn’t being fair or just, I need to stand up to that. That’s my truth. I am willing to be the loser in a scenario where the truth needs to be told.

And so, this week I want to reflect on this card. It’s okay to go into battle and come out the loser, especially if it’s for something or someone that you feel is very important. But ask yourself: is this battle worth it? Is this the sword you want to fall on? Are you willing to lose? What is the price you are willing to pay?

In the grander scheme of everything, when when I’m looking at all aspects of my life, I can ask myself: is this worth it? Am I willing to fail or succeed for this? Discernment – it’s a very useful skill to learn. I hope to gain this wisdom. Maybe you want it too.

I love you,

Erin

Faerie Card Reading for the Week of July 16 – 22, 2018

Card: Queen of the Thrones of Air – from The Hermetic Tarot by Godfrey Dowson.

“A graceful woman with curly hair stands amid a multitude of rolling clouds. The crest above her head is the winged kerubic head of Air. Across her shoulders she holds a large sword, and in her right hand she grasps the newly-severed head of a man by the lock of his hair.”

Message from Erin: I really relate to this card. For the past few years I have often imagined that I have sword resting behind my shoulder blades. It’s a Sword of Justice. Like the Queen in this card, I would deliver swift justice to those who have broken sacred laws. I have imagined myself holding my sword to those who have committed atrocities.

The thing about carrying this sword around is that there is a great burden. The sword is quite heavy and it can restrict your movement. Also, in order to use the sword, you have to become very cunning, relying solely on your wits and having to ignore the pleas from the heart. Because of this, I choose not to carry a sword, but I have respect and admiration for those who choose to wield it.

This week, we are being asked to choose our mind over our hearts. If you are feeling driven by your emotional body, pay attention to your feelings but try not to let them be the deciding factor for any big decisions or actions you need to take. Try to use logic and your intellect instead. It’s important that you are very precise with your actions and words this week. If that seems to difficult, it might be best to try to hold off right now on making any major changes.

I love you,

Erin (and the Faeries)

Faerie Card Reading for the Week of May 21 – 27, 2018

Card: Ace of Swords – from The Hermetic Tarot by Godfrey Dowson.

“Invoked power for good or evil. Whirling force. Strength through trouble. Affirmation of justice. Great determination.”

Message from the Faeries: In a world that is full of chaos and uncertainty, it can be easy to get swept up by your or emotions. One emotion that is easing to get tangled up in is fear. Fear is a force of its own. It is so powerful for the that it can take over and one can be easily lost in it.

There will always be events that occur in your reality that will evoke fear. Sometimes fear is a necessary emotion that will help you survive, but it then becomes an emotion that is clinged to when no longer needed. Often, fear is irrational and evoked by others in order to cause you harm for their own benefit.

We want you take this sword that we present to you in this card. Learn to use this sword of knowledge and discernment to fend off the fear that is not serving you. Don’t let fear manipulate and control you. If you know that other people use fear to try and control you, what are you doing to stop it? You own yourself. Nobody else own you and fear does not own you.

One more thing we would like to say: when you feel like your heart is too hurt or fragile to move forward, turn to the cunning of your mind and use logic to guide you to your truth. Use this sword to fight your way through difficult times.

We love you,

The Faeries

Faerie Card Reading for the Week of February 5 – 11, 2018

Card: Ten of Swords – from the Shadowscapes Tarot by Stephanie Pui-Mun Law and Barbara Moore.

“The Ten of Swords represents misfortune, desolation, burdens to bear, ruin, the end of delusions. It feels like circumstances have instigated a spiraling and uncontrolled plunge. Sometimes circumstances are beyond human control. Sometimes there is nothing to do but ride it out and pick up the pieces when things finally come to a halt, and learn from the mishaps.”

Message from the Faeries: This Card might come across as a bit scary, especially after reading the description, but we are actually feeling pretty good about the appearance of this card this week.

This card is about something not working out the way you had hoped it would. Maybe a plan is going to fall through, or someone will let you down, or maybe a situation will take a bad turn. The thing is, even when thing don’t go your way, it’s happening for a reason that you just can’t see right now. Yeah, it sucks that you didn’t get the immediate outcome you had hope for. Of course you might be bummed out and feel let down, but take heart in knowing that this is all just a part of the journey.

Don’t hold on to these moments that you might think are so bad. When you hold on to the feelings of disappointment it can lead to feelings of bitterness or anger. When you come from that place it will only lead to further feelings of betrayal and disillusionment, and that can cause you to spiral out.

February can be a challenging month for many people. Winter feels like it is dragging on. The weather can become and obstacle, and mental health is hard to maintain. So, don’t let a bump on the road of your journey get you down right now. Just pick yourself up, hold your head high and keep moving forward. There are still so many good things to come.

We love you.

Faerie Card Reading for the Week of November 28 – December 4, 2016

Card: Seven of Swords – from the Paulina Tarot by Paulina Cassidy.

“The snake design on the man’s cloak signifies deceit. Little does he know that there are witnesses to his theft of the four swords.

Meanings: Theft, sneakiness, betrayal, deceit, back-stabbing, mistrust.”

Message from the Faeries: This coming week may have a challenge or two. This card indicates that you might have some interpersonal problems that you will likely have to deal with. It’s not as grave as the card suggests. It’s not necessarily about betrayal or deceit, but it would do you well to be alert and pay attention.

Whatever happens this week won’t come as a complete surprise to you. You’ve had a niggling thought at the back of your mind. You’ve had a feeling in your guts that something isn’t right with someone. You have had a nagging suspicion. There have been red flags that something is not what it seems to be, or someone isn’t being quite as honest as you would like.

Here is the thing we have noticed: you often ignore these red flags. Sometimes you very willfully forget what your intuition tells you. Why do you do this? The simple answer is that you don’t want to know the truth, and the more complex answer is that you really only want to see the best in people and it can hurt to see the shadow side of human nature.

This willful ignorance is a large part of your suffering. If you paid more attention to the signs and didn’t ignore them you would soon begin to see more things more clearly and you would make better life decisions. When you are denial of the truth, as it is always so plainly laid for you to see, you are actually setting yourself up for greater disappointment.

If you saw the liar for the liar, you wouldn’t be so hurt when they lied to you, you would simply see them for who they are and act accordingly. Instead, you often tell yourself that they didn’t mean to lie this one time, and when they lie to you again you are so hurt because you refused accept who they were the first time around.

The truth will set you free. Try to be more honest with yourself. More importantly, trust yourself and your intuition. Stop ignoring your instincts and intuition. You really do know what’s best for you.  The more honest you are with yourself, you will find that the more honest you are with others. At first it might be a little frightening, but it will also be quite liberating.

We love you.

Faerie Card Reading for the Week of July 18 – 24, 2016

Card: Four of Swords – from the Paulina Tarot by Paulina Cassidy.

“Wearing a warrior’s hat, a woman emerges from an emotional ordeal. She moves toward solitude seeking only to rest in her own quiet world as life carries on around her.

Meanings: Rest and retreat, a break from trouble, contemplation”

Message From The Faeries: Whether things are going well for you or not, this week is about keeping yourself in a low profile. This is a bit of a reoccurring message lately because it’s very important that you are taking the time to look after yourself.

There are some very intense energies that are happening globally right now. Things can feel very chaotic and scary right now if you let yourself get wrapped up in the momentum of it. We aren’t going to lie to you – things aren’t really great right now on the human world stage. There are lots of people acting out on their anger and fears. This can be scary for some of you.

Here is the thing – You need to try your best to not let it get to you. The woman in the card is like you, she is a warrior. She is brave and strong. She is also very wise. She knows that right now is not the time for battle. She has her swords placed protectively around herself and she is in meditation. She is taking this time of chaos and making into a time of peace. There is a golden dove beside her that demonstrates the support she receives from the Universe in helping her to maintain her commitment to Peace. Yes, she would use her swords if she absolutely had to, but it is the very last resort.

Right now, even though it might feel like it, it is not the time for battle. You are not here to fight. You are here as a Peaceful Warrior. You are here for Love. So, if you are feeling ill at ease or afraid, take the time to retreat within and remind yourself why you are here.

We love you,

The Faeries

Faerie Card Reading for July 13 – 19, 2015

Card: King of Winter from The Victorian Fairy Tarot  by Lunaea Weatherstone.

“This card can be used to represent a man of mature years who is in a position of authority and power: the boss, the politician, the military man, the stern father. He can be a wise leader, but he does not share power well. If you are going to argue with him, have your facts in order. If this card does not represent a particular person, it can mean a need for cool and detached strategizing in challenging times. If you must do battle for a cause, assemble your allies and determine calmly how to proceed. Use your wits before you take action.

In a nutshell: logic, discipline, emotional detachment, choosing your battles wisely”

Message from the Faeries: How very strange for the King of Winter to show up in middle of summer! Actually, it’s not really. Even though he represents Winter, all the faeries enjoy visit each other’s lands and realms. This King has decided to pay you a visit right now because he has an important message for you.

The King of Winter is a very serious fairy. He is very cunning and logical. If you wanted a deep, warm hug, you would most likely not pay a visit to this guy. He is all about the mind and he uses it like a very sharp and precise tool. He’s here this week to warn you to be smart.

We always tell you to follow your heart, and we will always tell that, but we don’t always tell you to use your mind. This week there are some things that will come up that will require you to be straight and on point. This isn’t a time to be mushy or wishy-washy. You need to be precise and maybe even a little cunning.

This week, don’t be afraid to be a little sharp, if that’s what it takes to to get you where you need to be. Being solely in your emotional body will not take you there. Your logic and intelligent mind are a very important aspect of your being and who you are. It’s time to let that part of yourself be the leader and take you to the places you want to go. Don’t forget to enjoy the ride!

We love you.

The Faeries

Note from Erin: The Winter suit in this tarot deck is the same as the Swords or Air.
