Card: Damara – from the Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue.
“A Celtic fertility goddess whose name means ‘gentle’, Damara helps bring peace and harmony to families and within households. She helps children maintain their youthful innocence and faith. Damara is happy to guide you with respect to the best way to help children – yours or someone else’s.”
Message from the Faeries: All humans are capable of the love that Damara has for children, and are capable of bringing peace and harmony wherever they go. Unfortunately, many people have endured pain and suffering in their life, often as children, that has caused them forget their wonderful gifts of bringing peace and love into the their lives and into their world. This is understandable, considering the trauma they have endured. No one’s suffering is measurable, for you all mend and heal differently.
We would like to ask you at this time, to remember your inner loving and trusting self, and to honour that person. Be your own Damara, and give yourself so much love and nurturing. Tell yourself that the trauma has passed and today is a new day. You aren’t that child who was abused or neglected. You are now a grown up who is responsible for his or her own life and actions.
You see, the children of today are influenced by every single person that comes into contact with them. Some of them now, are having to endure some of the same trauma that you had to endure. By healing yourself, and being your own Damara, you then help to create a world where the children of today can have the love and support that they so deserve. You deserve it too.
All children, even those who have suffered trauma, still carry that spark of light of hope and innocence, and it is up to the adults that are in their life to help foster that hope and innocence. The big picture truth is that is true for all of you in your own lives. It is up to you to maintain the peace and love in yourselves. When you take care and nurture these things within you, it is only natural that you will bring this into the lives of others.
We hope you have a wonderful week. Be good to yourselves.
We love you.
This card is especially for my mother. She works hard in her life to help older children who have experienced trauma in their life, offering them the love and nurturing that they can’t find at home. Only a woman with great inner strength and courage could do such a job. May she recognize her reflection in this card. I love you, Mom. Thank you for being in my life and for all of your love and support. xo Erin
