Card: Mary Magdalene from the Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue.
“I’m not what most people think, yet to defend myself would be to sink to a lower level than I feel comfortable with. I am one with the Divine, just as you are, and it is here that I choose to reside. The lower levels of human bickering, judgement, and chaos or just that: lower levels. I choose to do my work from the level of the higher consciousness, where love reigns supreme. It’s here where the most good can be done, and I urge you to do the same. Where you dwell in consciousness is where you truly dwell. So, focus your thoughts on the good things that you can find in people, and rise above all appearances otherwise.”
Message from Erin: Today I was sitting on the bus and I was getting so irritated with the people sitting around me. The woman sitting in front of me was eating shrimp dumplings, and the people sitting behind me were eating salt and vinegar chips. The smell of the food was driving me insane, and I was feeling so angry at the people eating. I felt they were being so inconsiderate and rude. Finally, I was getting so annoyed with myself for being so annoyed with these people. They weren’t really doing anything wrong. They were just sitting there being themselves, doing their own thing. Who cares if they were eating? What’s the big deal? Why was my comfort level more important than theirs? Why was I sitting on such a moral high horse about manners, on public transportation of all places! The whole thing was absurd! I was so fed up with it all, especially myself, that I just got off the bus. As soon as I got off the bus and let go, I felt great. I ran into a friend and had a nice visit. My day was starting take a bad turn because of my judgmental attitude, and I decided it wasn’t worth it and turned it around.
I’m so glad that this card came up today as a reminder to everyone that not only does judgement hurt others, it especially hurts ourselves. It lowers our consciousness and can be detrimental to our health. When I was getting irritated on the bus, I felt myself holding my forehead and I was getting a headache. I asked myself: is this worth the stress? No, absolutely not. It was easiest to just remove myself from the situation and move on with my day. I had no control over what the people around me were doing, and I had absolutely no right to get angry with them. They were sitting there, happy, enjoying their day, just being themselves. Sometimes it’s best to just let people just be and move on.
Message from the Faeries: Don’t let what other people say or do affect you so much. What they are saying and doing is their business. Mind yourself. Mind your mind. If what people are saying or doing is harmful to you, you obviously have the right to express yourself to them that it is not acceptable to say or do things to harm you. We fully encourage you to stand up for yourself as a human being, but we also recommend that you no longer spend time with people who would ever say or do things to purposefully harm you. The people you surround yourself with are a direct reflection of yourself. Really, truly, think about that. Are the people in your life reflecting you? What do you want to be reflecting. Be that refection.
What is unconditional love? It’s loving yourself no matter what. It’s loving yourself so much that you are unwilling to set conditions on your love. You do whatever it it takes to make yourself happy and live the life full of joy and love that you deserve. When you learn to fully and completely to do this for yourself, you are able to do this for others. You will do it with ease and grace. Love yourself and the rest will follow.
We love you,
Erin and The Faeries
