Faerie Card Reading for the Week of September 2nd – 8th, 2013
Card: Quiet Time – from the Healing with the Fairies Oracle Cards deck by Doreen Virtue.
“You need some time alone, away from other people and environmental noises. Even a brief respite would be extremely rejuvenating for you.
Sometimes we’re not even cognizant of the detrimental impact of stress in our life. We become so accustomed to living in an uproar that we’re not aware when our body is telling us that it’s on overload. The symptoms include illness, unusual fatigue, depression or anxiety, appetite and weight issues, addictions, sleep disorders, irritability, and a desire to withdraw from life.
By drawing this card, you are being asked to honor your body and soul by spending some quiet time alone- as soon as possible. This might mean going on a silent retreat; spending the day at a lake, beach or in the mountains; taking a hike; or visiting a day spa. You could even turn off your phone; out a ‘Do Not Disturb’ sign on your door; and take an afternoon nap, a long bubble bath, or read your favorite book. Regardless of the form that your quiet time takes, the fairies just ask that you keep this promise to yourself without delay.
Affirmation: I now give myself permission to be silent within and without. My mind is quiet, and I enjoy my own company.”
Message from Erin: I was looking at this card and I couldn’t help by notice the colours and imagery. Fall is just around the corner. Fall is when things begin to die or go into hibernation until the Spring. The Faeries tell me: “This time period is energetically very charged. You can feel it in the air. There has been thunder and lightening and this is from all the electric, powerful energy in the air. Listen to this energy. Pay attention to it. You have to be quiet in order to receive the messages that are being shot across the sky.”
I am not surprised in the slightest that I pulled this card for us this week. For the past few days through thoughts and conversation with others I keep hearing that it’s really important to take the time to be quiet. To have moments of silence. How can we hear if we aren’t listening? How can we listen if we are making so much noise? Meditation is always a good and easy way to have a moment of respite. Even just 5 minutes of meditation will take you a long way.
Sit. Quiet. Listen.
All is well ❤
