Faerie Card Reading for the Week of Feb 18 – 24, 2013

Card: 22 The Maiden – from The Heart of Faerie Oracle deck by Brian and Wendy Froud.

“Always in that magic state between girlhood and womanhood, the Maiden lives in the place where everything is possible. Love and romance are lifeblood, and where she walks in Faerie romance blossoms and love flowers in her wake. The honey sweetness of first love is always on her breath.

No matter what our age or sex, we must honor the Maiden and acknowledge her in our lives and relationships. It is important to remember how we felt when we first became aware of romantic love, whether through our own experiences or through books and films, whatever portrayed that first awakening in us.

We become jaded with time and experience. We lock our young emotions away and forget about them. It is important to remember those emotions every once in a while. They will not always be happy memories. First love can be very painful but even the pain of a first love is very different from what we feel as more experienced travellers in the realms of romance.

When the Maiden appears, take the time to remember how you felt when you first fell in love. You can’t go back, but you can remember and take some of that wonder and sense of endless possibility with you on your continuing journey.”

Message from the Faeries: Spring is just around the corner. The Maiden is always an instrumental faerie that plays an important role in ushering in the Spring.  She brings that special feeling into your hearts when you see that first flower of the year. She is that tangible sweet smell that you can’t quite put your finger on. She puts that little “spring” back into your step after the snow that has built up around your heart starts to melt. She gets all those birds to bring back their joyous songs to encourage all the trees to grow their leaves, and encourage all the flowers to blossom.

Her delicate child-like beauty and sweetness is something you all experienced when you were young. Contrary to popular belief, you can indeed recapture those magical feelings you had in your youth. Even better, you can recapture these wondrous feelings without going through all the drama and heartache that came along with it when you were a teenager.  We would really love for you to just take a moment, just sit and close your eyes, and remember some special moment you experienced as a child or a teenager where you fell in love with someone or something, and that love you felt was so sweet and innocent. There is a tone to this love and if you can just allow yourself to remember that tone and how it feels, you can carry that tone with you into your day to day life. That love – that tone is a very magical tone. It is like the magic the Maiden is carrying in her hand, which is the horn of a unicorn, so special and so rare.

How wonderful would it be to see the world again with this love?! This love is actually pure, unadulterated love. This is the love before all the hurt and trauma. We know this world can seem like such a cruel and horrible place, and we see you all suffering. We know that life is hard. If you can just take a moment to experience again that pure love that you once had, and if you could just hold that tone for even just a single moment every day, we feel that this would benefit your lives greatly. If you allow yourselves to open your hearts and experience this love again, you will see much improvements in how you cope with day to day life. You have the wisdom and experience now to carry that love. You can guard that love and protect it, you can even nurture it and watch it blossom and grow. Imagine this love is like a beautiful delicate rose that you carry inside your heart. Know and trust that no one can ever take this love from you. It is yours and yours alone to guard and cherish for the rest of your life.

We look forward to seeing all of your magical rose gardens blossom!

Many blessings to all of you!

The Faeries
